As a busy mom, educator, program director and community activist, my time is at a premium.  But I will  be so happy to have the opportunity to share my creations with you.  Browse my shops, like me on Facebook, come see me at shows, and write to ask for available stock and custom work!  Lots of love, ES

About the Artist

My name is Emily Stahl, although sometimes I go by Victorya Steele, in events where an alias is more fun.

My obsession with creating historically themed clothing and accessories started with my best friend's "Little House on the Prairie" inspiration in 5th grade.  We would draw civil war and princess gowns and slyly show them to each other in class.  I started designing small scale dresses by hand, then in high school learned to sew for drama club.  Since then I've worked for the Historial Society of Wisconsin as a seamstress and interpreter, even teaching adults and children sewing techniques and pattern drafting.  I love combining historical era elements to create both accurate and fanciful clothing.

The only thing I  hated  about period clothing was the lack of pockets in my dresses.  Slinging a modern bag over the shoulder or carrying a basket around is cumbersome and doesn't always enhance the look.  But I think there can be a way to get style and practicality.

I take inspiration from Renaissance Festival garb and Steampunk style and fuse them ... and Piccidilly Pockets is the result.  I hope you like what you see.
